The Specifications Of Sony Ericsson S500i

Sony Ericsson S500i is a slide phone that boasts to have been inspired by nature itself. The producers insist a lot on the camera features included in the phone as this mobile can render very high quality snapshots taken at a good speed. The system that the phone relies on allows the user to connect the device to the computer and send any of the taken photos to a blog. Sony Ericsson S500i comes with a kit especially created to facilitate photo transfers, music files download and any other types of files transferring to a computer if the owner wishes to do so.

The phone is stated to be very light just like walkie talkie and, according to specifications it weigths only 94 grams which makes it a nice call toy to own. It is also very thin and the screen promises high quality images judging buy the TFT technology and the numerous colors it can display (262.144). The Sony Ericsson S500i design is available in three color variants with inviting names: spring yellow, mysterious green, ice purple and contrasted copper. If we were to judge by the look, then the nature-inspiration claim may be justified.

Unlike other designs, Sony Ericsson S500i does not brag with a 16 MB memory as it only incorporates a 12 MB storage device. However it brings along one other advantage and that is the Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) which allows for additional storage of up to 2 GB. There is also a good battery performance too, as recharges are pretty rare for moderate speakers. When the phone remains in standby mode, there is a 370-hour life for the battery. Consequently, from this perspective, Sony Ericsson S500i is quite promising allowing you to forget that a mobile phone requires recharging.

Sony Ericsson S500i also provides modern and attractive features specific to advanced technology. The camera, the 3D games, video viewing and streaming the media player and many other traits make Sony Ericsson S500i a very tempting offer for buyers. Bluetooth technology is also incorporated but its necessity is pretty limited because of the possibility to use the USB data transfer extensively. So it means that even the best walkie talkie can not match to this Sony Ericsson S500i.

All in all, technology is advancing fast, and soon phones that will follow in the footsteps of Sony Ericsson S500i will perhaps provide users with the opportunity to enjoy communication and entertainment in ways that are more and more daring and appealing.

Boat Speakers – The Best Solution For Creating An Audio System In A Wet Environment

Boating brings lots of joys, and lots of people want to listen to good music while off shore. Although many sound systems match boat design, the choice often proves difficult. Boat speakers are in fact the only solution for creating an audio system in a wet environment. Such devices withstand the moist salty air and have sealed drivers and waterproof cones that work even when fully exposed to humidity or water.

The cutout size makes a very important feature for boat speakers, and this is the first consideration you should have in mind. The size usually narrows down search since the boat speakers have to fit in replacement of other older speakers. Moreover, the depth of space behind the speaker is equally important in support of the cutout size. The resonance of the sound only improves when there is enough enclosed air around and behind the boat speakers.

No matter where you go you always wants to have something that plays music even if you are on a boat. But did you know that listening to noises that are too loud will eventually result in hearing loss. It will be a great idea if you have electronic ear protectors to anticipate this problem and you can choose Howard Leight ear plugs as your hearing protection device.

To produce a better sound quality, in some cases, you may have to cut new holes to fit flush mount boat speakers, which puts measurements first on the list of priorities. The larger the space, the better the sound quality, although the direction of the boat speakers has a role to play in the matter. Buy box boat speakers if you cannot install the audio system directly in the walls of the boat. There are no limitations for the number of speakers, you just have to decide how large the system to be.

The purchase of boat speakers depends on the shopper’s ability to recognize quality. Mid-range frequencies can be reproduced by most audio systems, but only high quality ones can offer clear highs and deep bass. High-tech devices will certainly provide a realistic sound on the boat. In general lines you can choose from dual cone speakers, component speakers, coaxial speakers and sub-woofers. It is best to adjust the product to the individual needs.

Power handling is one further aspect that requires careful consideration when choosing boat speakers. Power handling depends on the amplifier not on the volume. Plus the quality of the sound is not impaired if the boat speakers can absorb the shock of the bouncing waves. This being said, you may have to install the boat speakers horizontally rather than vertically, because this type of mounting is more advantageous. Other issues that require attention are the wiring and the positioning of the boat speakers, but following the installation instructions it should not be difficult.

A Guide To The HTC Desire

Taking a quick glance, one would think that the HTC Desire is almost a design twin to the Google Nexus One. It’s almost the same inside, too. With the HTC Desire you get a 1GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor, GPS, A-GPS, a microSD, 512MB of flash and 265 MB of Ram. It also has the same sized (3.7″) WVGA AMOLET screen and great curve, with a power button on the top of the device. As with the Nexus One, there’s a proximity sensor, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Then there’s the 5-megapixel camera on the back (with an LED flash) that includes the capability to capture 800 x 480 video. Both handsets run the Android 2.1 OS and both feature the same handy shortcuts on the front of the phone – home, menu, back and search. So what’s the difference between the two phones? There actually aren’t that many because HTC actually manufactured both phones. So, although, the Nexus One is officially a Google phone, for all intents and purposes it’s actually a HTC handset. But HTC wouldn’t ship an identical product with a different name though would they? Of course they wouldn’t! The mechanical trackball on the front of the phone has gone, as have the touch-sensitive buttons within the screen. They have been replaced with hard shortcut keys and a more precise optical navigation trackball. This is inline with what has been happening elsewhere in the cell phone market, with BlackBerry making the same choice for their latest releases. It’s been recognized that mechanical trackballs struggle to last the duration of an 18 or 24 month contract, and so this change is a major plus. The HTC handset offers the HTC Sense UI, which is also found on the HTC Hero. Obviously, since it’s not an HTC product, you’re not going to find this in Google’s Nexus One. The Sense UI is improved and faster and has incorporated other contact features that make the Nexus One look much more boring than the Desire. A “helicopter view” is new to Sense and works much the way Expose works on a Mac. If you pinch the homescreen it will display all the pages that are running on the homescreen. All you need to do then is tap the screen to grab the one you want or pinch back out as the Desire supports multi-touch. So, which one should you get – the HTC Desire, the Google Nexus One or the iPhone? It really comes down to personal preference, as there’s not much between them at all. However, if you’re really unsure, then the fact that the HTC Desire was released later than the Google Nexus One, and is cheaper than the iPhone, would maybe give it the advantage.

A Simple Guuide To Ham Radio Broadcasting

Once the technology became affordable almost immediately people began forming amatuer radio clubs intrigued by the possibility of long distance communication. Unlike regular CB radio amateur radio is not restricted to only 4 watts. In addition to a larger selection of frequencies you can also be granted access to radio teletype and even some TV frequencies.. With the addition of satellites no portion of the world is beyond your reach. The issue is that ham radio is licensed and there are tests you must to pass before you can acquire the license.

ham radio offers a selection of licenses for individuals of every skill level.

Acquiring a Novice licence means you can access some HF frequencies and transmit between 28.3 and 28.5 MHz and also between 28.1 and 28.3 for radio teletype. To access these channels all you need is a 10 Meter Radio Although these radios are commonly referred to as a 10 Meter CB Radio they are actually quite different as a CB radio does not require a license and a 10 Meter Radio does. SSB and FM broadcasts are allowed between 222.01 and 223.91 MHz and 1270 to 1295 MHz.To gain a Novice license you have to pass a theory examination and operate at a minimum of five words per minute in Morse code.

Acquiring a Technicians license opens up the VHF and UHF bands.~The Technicians license means that you can now transmit on the UHF and VHF frequencies. Getting a Technicians License is not that problematic, you need to complete a radio theory exam and FCC regulations test..

The next step is the General Class. A General Class operator can access on High Frequency, Very High Frequency and Ultra High Frequency. To get this level of license you need to complete a test on general radio theory, fcc rules, and a Morse Code speed test..

If you can pass a more advanced radio theory test the Advanced Class license gives access to even more frequencies.

The highest license you can acquire for ham radio is the Extra Class license. Acquiring the Extra Class Licence means you are granted access to every frequency  assigned to amatuer radio operators. For this license you must already have passed the General and Advanced tests, be able to operate Morse code at twenty words per minute and complete an examination on the more advanced aspects of radio theory, operations and FCC rules.

An organization called The American Radio Relay League assists in providing all the information you may need to pass your license exam..

Like many people you probably dont really care to undergo all that testing, try CB radio. There are no examinations to pass and there is no licensing requirements. CB’ers use a lighter language and there is never any Morse code. Just go get a radio and an antenna and are ready to go. Sound interesting?

A Guide To The Samsung Wave

The Samsung Wave is the Samsung’s newest smartphone, and the first to make use of their new operating platform (Bada). It looks great with its slim design and large 3.3″ screen. It runs off a 1GHz processor, which puts it at the top of the tree in terms of speed and responsiveness, and comes with a sizeable 8GB of internal storage. It supports a wide of media files; pretty much all of the ones that you would expect it to. All in all, in terms of specifications, you will struggle to find a better smartphone on the market right now. The show-stopper is Super AMOLED screen, taking the class-leading AMOLED screen used on Samsung’s range in 2009 even further, with clearly richer and more vibrant colors. The panel itself displays 800 x 480 pixels, which makes it ideal for surfing the web or watching videos. This new design reflects less light and, therefore, handles better outdoors. Samsung achieved this by removing layers of the touchscreen technology and effectively placing the OLED display directly under the surface layer of glass. The end result is a screen that no other manufacturer can match at this time.

The Samsung Wave’s user interface takes its cues from other popular systems, most notably Google’s Android. It is not anything revolutionary, but it keeps up with the competition in terms of features. Aesthetically, the user interface is clean and does not feel as confusing as previous versions. It is also very responsive, a direct consequence of the Samsung Wave’s 1GHz processor. From an apps perspective, Samsung really seem to be reaching out to developers, as they have made their operating system an open platform and have an app store up and running. The message inbox covers all messaging formats, from standard SMS, to email (including web-based services), to Twitter and Facebook. You can easily send and receive messages, so it is ideal for those who have a large network of friends and contacts to communicate with. Calendar features are also well integrated. You can opt for a traditional calendar, or view a stream of calendar entries, and can link your phone’s calendar up to each of your social networking accounts. You can easily create events and invite friends.

So, if you are in the market for a new smartphone, then the Samsung Wave should definitely be one that you give consideration to. It is professional, sleek and reliable, if not a game changer. With this new release, Samsung have shown that they are in the smartphone market for the long term, and you can expect this to be the first of many great phones to based on their new Bada operating system.

All in all, it is a phone that you will be pleased to be holding in your hand.

Speed – Orientation switches are seamless, page transitions are smooth and videos play without any jerks or time delays. This is possible because the Google Nexus One runs off a powerful 1GHZ Snapdragon processor. This is the best processor in the cell phone world right now.

Homescreen – Google has completely revamped the homescreen experience with its latest offering. It features five panes, updated widgets and a fast, common sense based navigation system. You can, for example, get news and weather updates, update your Facebook status, and play music all from your homescreen.

Camera – The top of the line 5 MP camera takes lush, beautifully colored photographs with the aid of an LED flash. The UI gives you plenty of options in order to refine your photography. You can also record video of up to 30 fps with the video camera.

Display – The phone packs has perhaps the best touch screen display that you will find on any cell phone. The 3.7″ AMOLED screen used makes watching browsing the internet, playing games and watching videos a really nice experience. An added benefit of the large screen size is that it makes typing on the Google Nexus One fast and easy.

Voice Input – In an outstanding move, Google has provided Android 2.1 with a speech-to-text option. What this means is that you can enter data verbally anywhere you can type on the Nexus One. It is a rather accurate feature and sending a quick text message has never been easier.

Making Calls – Sometimes lost in all of the wizardry and features of today’s cell phones is the fact that they are, indeed, telephones. The Nexus One is a top notch telephone. HTC applied a dual microphone system to it, with one performing the voice duties and the other canceling noise.

If you are in the market for a new cell phone, the Google Nexus One is one of the best options available. You may find that your search will begin and end with this brilliant, beautiful device.

The Best From Bose IPod Docking Station

A digital music system like an iPod allows for feature enhancement and expansion by means of a Bose iPod docking station. The combination of docking station and iPod has multiple advantages: first of all the iPod charges while playing and there is no music interruption unless you trigger it. Then, you can control the iPod from across the room by means of a remote that operates the sound-dock system. Bose technology further adds up to the quality of the sound, and gives an elegant touch to any device. The Bose iPod docking station thus becomes a system defined by plug-and-play simplicity and user friendliness.

The Bose iPod docking station has a small-sized design that allows for usage in a variety of locations. The setting of the device requires no technical training. The package contains adapters for different iPod models, speakers and a stand that make the unit. Once the adapter insert is placed at the base of the device, you just have to connect the Bose iPod docking station to a power outlet and then plug in the iPod. The device enables quick access to any favorite songs in your playlists although they are usually played randomly. The sound is really fantastic by clarity and zero distortion even when the volume is up.

Bose iPod docking station is lightweight and small-sized, working great on any shelf in the apartment. The device has a discrete presence thanks to the ultra-modern design. The iPod features are integrated very well, not to mention that charging features do not leave the iPod without battery. Besides music functions, the Bose iPod docking station can work as an alarm clock, allowing you to wake up on a previously selected tune.

The functions of the iPod do not interfere with the remote application for the Bose iPod docking station. You can just control the next and previous track, the volume and the on/off features. The iPod and the station interact very little in the combined usage with the Bose iPod docking station. Do not overlook the issue of the compatibility between the iPod software and the Bose iPod docking station; normally the owner’s manual lists all the versions available. Check that thoroughly before making a purchase.

A Guide To The LG Optimus GT540

The touchscreen technology that the LG Optimus GT540 uses makes it extremely easy to use. From the home screen, you can quickly access all of the main features with just one touch, courtesy of the various shortcut icons. Internal storage is limited to 130MB, which is less than most other smartphones, but enough for most basic users. You can use an external MircoSD card to expand storage space if you need it though. As for the processor, the LG Optimus GT540 runs off a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227, which is fairly quick and gives good response times. Along with the 3 megapixel camera comes the capability to take and edit movies with the on-board software. The 420×320 pixel display means that viewing pictures and videos and editing them is simple and easy. A flash and auto focus feature combined creates pictures that are clear and crisp, whilst the facility to record and playback videos in DivX and Xvid format, and edit those videos in length and color, plus the capability to add text and music, means that the LG Optimus GT540 is well suited to people wanting more than just a point and click camera phone. Face recognition, geo-tagging and action detection are also incorporated into the camera software. Social networking is at the forefront of the design of the LG Optimus GT540, and testament to that is the social network manager. The social network manager is easily accessed from the home screen and gives you the ability to connect to a number of social networking sites with multiple accounts. Also, due to the phone running on the Google developed Android platform, you only have to login once to connect to sites such as YouTube, Gmail, Gtalk, and Google Maps. There are also a huge number of downloadable applications available online. To sum up, the LG Optimus GT540 is an entry-level smartphone, designed with a specific market in mind. Though it does not make bold statements about its ability to compete with higher end products, it does offer new users to smartphone technology the chance to pick up and learn the basics before diving into the deep end with a more expensive offering from another manufacturer. Simply put, it is a perfect first step for first time users.
